Nurse-Led Remote Rapid Access Angina Clinic

Patients with poor health literacy and areas of high social deprivation experience more cardiovascular disease. Conversely, the very people who need to access services have the greatest difficulty. This equates to higher cardiovascular morbidity and mortality in this cohort. The organisers redesigned our service to be more inclusive to this population with the intention of preventing harm before harm is caused. Even if you survive a heart attack, up to 80 per cent of patients will go on to experience heart failure by x5 years. Hence, the model has improved safety by making access earlier and facilitating early treatment and event reduction.
