AI and NHS Physiotherapy digital partnership transforms patient care

In partnership with Flok Health, Cambridgeshire Community Services Trust (CCS) transformed access to back pain care through England’s first large-scale AI-supported MSK clinic, as part of the GIRFT Further Faster initiative. Between February and May 2025, more than 2,500 people across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough received rapid and personalised digital support combining AI-led assessment with real-time clinician input. Over 98% were managed entirely online, cutting waiting times by more than half and freeing capacity for face-to-face care. The project has gained national attention for its innovative and compassionate approach to patient-centred MSK care.
