Transforming Care at South Tees: A Journey from Paper to Digital Excellence
South Tees Hospitals Foundation Trust has delivered significant digital transformations in the NHS, rising from HIMSS Level 1 to an estimated Level 5 and resolving critical Care Quality Commission-identified risks. Through a clinically led, highly engaged approach, the trust has implemented and optimised the Miya electronic patient record across all inpatient services, improving patient safety, medicines management, documentation quality and operational flow. Staff from every profession have shaped, adopted and championed the digital agenda, resulting in faster workflows, fewer medication harms, earlier detection of deterioration and more time for patient care. This sustained improvement has transformed outcomes, culture and organisational performance.
