A Parkinson’s Rapid Advisory and Intervention Therapy Service
A new rapid response therapy service for Parkinson’s patients has been established through funding from Parkinson’s UK. The service employs a part-time occupational therapist and physiotherapist, who work across both acute hospital settings and community care.
The team prioritises patients in crisis or at risk of hospital admission, responding to referrals within 72 hours. Their work focuses on improving Parkinson’s care through education, training sessions and joint therapy assessments, supporting patients in their own homes where possible.
