Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Team (PSQIT)

Founded in 2022, the Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Team (PSQIT) at Star Lane Medical Centre has established itself as a driving force for healthcare excellence despite its small size. The team has successfully delivered more than 30 projects ranging from quick interventions to complex multi-year studies.

Their work incorporates cutting-edge approaches, including artificial intelligence applications, while addressing significant local health inequalities through targeted cancer screening initiatives and chronic disease management programmes.

The PSQIT’s effectiveness has been recognised through multiple national awards, demonstrating that a well-organised primary care team with appropriate expertise can achieve substantial improvements in patient care and influence wider system change, regardless of size.
