Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Team (PSQIT)

Founded in 2022, the Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Team (PSQIT) at Star Lane Medical Centre has established itself as a driving force for healthcare enhancement despite its small size. In just two years, the team has completed more than 30 projects ranging from quick interventions to complex multi-year studies.

The PSQIT has embraced innovative approaches, including artificial intelligence tools, to address local health inequalities, with particular focus on improving cancer screening rates and chronic disease management. Their work has not gone unnoticed, garnering multiple national awards.

Their success demonstrates that practice teams, regardless of size, can deliver significant improvements to patient care when equipped with appropriate expertise and methodology. The team’s primary focus remains on enhancing patient safety, sustaining positive changes, and integrating quality improvement techniques into everyday clinical practice.
