Warmth on Prescription / NHS Retrofit
Warmth on Prescription (WoP) is an innovative acute-support programme run by fuel poverty charity Severn Wye in partnership with NHS Gloucestershire Integrated Care Board and Gloucestershire County Council. NHS clinicians refer eligible patients for free energy advice, low-cost measures and one-off financial support to help them stay warm and healthy at home over winter, leading to better health and reduced NHS costs. The scheme has highlighted the need for more comprehensive energy-efficiency “retrofit” work in patients’ homes to improve long-term outcomes. These benefits are now being delivered to WoP patients through “NHS Retrofit”, funded by NHS Gloucestershire ICB.
